f you have ever looked around for advertising jobs, or any job, chances are, your first stop would have been a career website. Truth be told, there are scores of career websites filled with hundreds of thousands of jobs. There are all kinds of jobs available in all sorts of industries.
But if I were to pick one industry that never seems to have a shortage of jobs, I would select job opportunities in advertising for that position of honor.
In fact, as one of the largest industries employing real people, jobs in advertising will never go out of fashion.
And machines will never be able to replace the people who work in the advertising industry. A manufacturing outfit could automate most of the assembly line processes. A retailer could go online and eliminate the need for sales people.
Most banks have already gone online and have expanded the scope and reach of their services. But when it comes to advertising jobs, real people will always be in demand.
This is precisely because jobs in advertising carry with them a degree of skill, talent and experience that no machine can ever replicate. And trained advertising professionals are always in demand to fill ever growing lists of advertising opportunities.
Nearly all the major job boards online have a special category for jobs in the advertising field. Monster - for instance - has nearly three entire categories in all their global sites that showcases the very best jobs in advertising.
Other job boards like College Board, Source Tool and even Marketing Jobs have entire sections devoted to helping talented professionals find and take up positions in advertising.
There are even specialized human resource consultants like Aquent who scout around and fill only jobs in advertising. Even the global recruiter Hudson has a specialized arm that caters to professionals in the advertising business.
While most applicants who wish to enter the industry know that most advertising opportunities are filled by word of mouth, the industry itself has grown so vast and hungry, that there is always a need for trained professionals who are looking for careers in advertising.
And an entire industry has come up to cater to the needs of such professionals. While human resources itself is growing and developing at a rapid rate, one of the first areas where unprecedented growth has been seen has been in the advertising jobs sector.
So much so that most conventional human resource professionals have begun offering a slew of services to cater to those who are seeking jobs in the advertising industry.
The reasons for this are not difficult to fathom. Advertising is a specialized profession, and advertising job posters are always on the look out for suitable people.
And although there are many qualifications that will enable a person to become an advertising professional, the actual industry seeks a different kind of animal. One who is creatively charged, capable of handling stress and performing under the most adverse of conditions.
As such, while there are plenty of varieties of advertising jobs in the marketplace, these advertising jobs are not meant for everyone!
