Bilingual jobs search: After performing some online research we have discovered that there are literally tons of employers seeking to hire individuals with the bilingual skills needed to tap into the Hispanic markets.
Learning to speak Spanish as a second language has so many great advantages. This page was created as a result of being asked this one question so many times: "Why should we learn Spanish?".
In fact, as a 10 year old boy, I couldn't understand why all of my Spanish and German friends could speak English but I couldn't speak their language.
After not being able to come up with any logical answers, I decided to ask my parents. The answer I was given is that, as Americans, we don't have to learn Spanish, or German, or Japanese for that matter. My parents explained that the United States is a super power, and as such, all other countries have to learn to speak English, especially if they want to live in the US.
Even though I could not argue with that answer, I was not satisfied with it. So, unlike most people, I decided to do something about it, despite being such a young kid at the time.
Be that as it may, I had no idea that my decision to learn to speak Spanish fluently would turn out to be so advantageous years later. When I reflect back on all the jobs I've had in the past, the one thing that set me apart from all the other candidates was - and still is - my bilingual skills.
Today, every time I conduct a bilingual jobs search, I can't help but notice all the opportunities available to those who are bilingual. More and more companies - large and small - are realizing the need to seek out and hire people with English and Spanish communication skills.
So, in an effort to provide more and more resources for those of you who want to learn Spanish, and in turn, use this to your advantage in the job market, we've decided to pull together one of the most comprehensive listings for all the job postings out on the Internet by employers in dire need of English/Spanish bilingual employees.
And, although there are many compelling reasons to learn to speak Spanish, I think one of the most important ones would be to give yourself that "edge" over everyone else in the job market.
